Stratodesk NoTouch OS, Release 3.4.759, now with Full AVD RemoteApps Support

New: Dependable and Top-Notch Support for AVD RemoteApps

We are pleased to inform you that with the release of NoTouch OS 3.4.759, we now offer reliable and high-quality support for AVD RemoteApps,  also known as Integrated Remote Apps or RAIL (Remote Application Integrated Locally). By adding this functionality to our Microsoft AVD support we can now offer our customers access to any standard Windows®-based program in any way they prefer and from virtually any location.

AVD RemoteApps makes, similar to the traditional Terminal Server RemoteApps,  programs accessed remotely through AVD appear as if they are running on the end user’s local desktop. These programs are referred to as RemoteApp programs. Instead of being presented to the user on the cloud-hosted desktop (Windows 365 or Cloud PC),  the RemoteApp program is integrated with the client’s local desktop and applications.

As can be seen in the screenshot different local application windows seamlessly blend in with Windows applications. Remote App windows can be resized, moved, and dragged between multiple monitors and there is no Linux handlebar visible.

Once you sign in to the AVD client on NoTouch, you can access the available resources through one or more of the following options:

  • Start menu
  • Desktop icons
  • Chooser dialog box

You also have the option to run single or multiple sessions. If you need to leave, there is a Disconnect option available. If you forget to log out, the system will automatically log you off due to inactivity (timeout). Also, it is possible to run published applications from different AVD workspaces.

The new release is an Early Access Release (EAR) and is available immediately in our customer portal for customers with current maintenance subscriptions.

If you have any questions or require additional support, please contact us.
