We pushed out a second release of the year this February for Stratodesk NoTouch. The new release provides new features, updates, and improvements. We’ll describe them in more detail below. Citrix users alerted about CVE-2023-24486 will be pleased to see that Workspace App 2302 is already included.
Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365
Apart from general reliability updates, this version builds on a newer version of Microsoft’s software stack that is required to be able to connect to Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure in the future. Microsoft automatically introduced backend changes to their AVD services back in November 2022 which still allowed older versions of the Stratodesk AVD client to connect. As such, customers using older versions of the AVD client should test and upgrade to at least 3.4.407 to avoid any connectivity issues when the grace period expires at the end of May 2023.
Lock screen integration with Citrix Workspace App
NoTouch OS now integrates with Workspace App in an SSO manner. Your users authenticate with Workspace App, and the local screensaver will protect their whole desktop, both local and remote apps, and unlock only with the Workspace App credentials. No user data is stored persistent on the endpoint. Please see our Lock Screen for Citrix Workspace App KB article for more information.
Proxy configuration improvements
It is now possible to specify a PAC file URL for the system as a whole. This makes the life easier for system administrators.
Citrix Workspace App 2302
Stratodesk NoTouch OS now includes the 2302 version of Citrix Workspace App, and this release comes with several improvements.
- Inactivity timeout – Allows to specify a timeout before a user is signed out of Workspace App (Technical Preview)
- Support for screen pinning in custom web stores – This feature ensures audio when network latency fluctuates (Technical Preview)
- Support for Korean language – This displays all available local audio devices in a session with their names
- Performance optimizations – when used with AuthManLite
- Address CVE-2023-24486 by updating to Workspace App 2302
The technical preview features are not exposed through the Stratodesk configuration system and require editing configuration files manually. Full release notes including additional fixed issues are available in the Citrix Linux Workspace App release notes.
NICE DCV
NoTouch OS can automatically side-load the NICE-DCV from its official sources (no installation needed).
IBM Aspera
Aspera has been around for a long time and has a very loyal customer base. With this release, NoTouch gains the ability to side-load Aspera from client-supplied binaries.
NoMachine
The latest NoMachine Enterprise client can be loaded into NoTouch OS.
