An exciting update to the NoTouch “Cathedral Peak” generation brings updated Citrix and VMware Horizon View clients, a totally new Citrix StoreFront client implementation, user configuration, and an update to the NoTouch smartcard infrastructure, targeted at corporate and governmental installations, not limited to CAC and PIV cards. The all-new “user-configuration” feature is a game changer for managing large installations – system administrators can now selectively allow users to set personal configuration parameters like screen resolution, multimonitor setup, time zone and keyboard layout.
We recommend all existing customers who are using latest VMware Horizon View 6.x or Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 to check out our new version. NoTouch 2.40.188 now contains the latest Citrix Receiver for Linux 13.2, and additionally to the 13.x it also offers a 12.1 client to maintain compatibility with older setups. Both of these included clients were updated. VMware Horizon View is now at the latest 3.5 client version. Firefox and Flash were updated, as well as the included Java JVM.
Along with the client software update comes an update to NoTouch Center, now at 4.2.23 – mainly intended as a service update and adding support for the new Citrix/StoreFront connection mode and its additional parameters, it contains some under-the-hood-modifications that together with the new client OS enhance the management data exchange protocol. It also updates its Java base, and improves browser compatibility.
