Introducing Stratodesk NoTouch OS 3.3.463 and NoTouch Center 4.5.264

Just released, Stratodesk NoTouch OS includes two updates this month.

The first release this month was 3.3.452 which introduced a new on-screen keyboard software module and added optimization support for Cisco Webex Meetings & Teams for VMware. We’ve created a new blog post on how to configure Cisco Webex Meetings & Teams for your NoTouch environment.

NoTouch OS 3.3.452 also introduced the 5.16 kernel, which is still experimental so should not be used in a production environment.

In addition, we’ve added greater support for endpoint monitoring with the addition of Remote DX from Control Up. Designed for employees that use Citrix or VMware Horizon virtual desktops and applications, ControlUp Remote DX collects relevant user-side telemetry that affects their Digital Employee Experience, such as the quality and speed of the Wi-Fi connection, as well as the performance of their internet connection.

With NoTouch OS 3.3.463, Nutanix continues to develop the Frame App ahead of its official release which is now updated to 6.9.0. It is available upon request.

Of course, security is top of mind not only for IT leaders, but for us as well. This is why Stratodesk NoTouch OS is built to meet the most hardened security needs from the ground up. For that reason, NoTouch OS is not affected by CVE-2021-4034 (pwnkit). The suggested mitigation (“no setuid bit on pkexec”) has been standard for years in NoTouch OS. Neither the current, nor older versions are affected.

Important Updates to Stratodesk NoTouch Center 4.5.264

Along with NoTouch OS 3.3.463, NoTouch Center 4.5.264 includes several background application updates and a synchronization of parameters with NoTouch OS.

The NoTouch Center Virtual Appliance is set to update automatically, so minor version numbers will change over time. (Note: Appliance 20220127 already contains the updated polkit against CVE-2021-4034)

As a reminder NoTouch Center 4.5.249 addressed the update to Log4j to 2.17.1 (CVE-2021-44832) and you can read more about this in the following blog post.

Customers with current update subscriptions can access the latest Stratodesk NoTouch OS and Center versions anytime via the Stratodesk customer portal!
