Thanks to a new partnership, Stratodesk now supports Desktone customers in making desktop virtualization simpler and cheaper. Those with Desktop as a Service (DaaS) are already using the most effective concept for this: It provides virtual desktops as a cloud service, enabling end users to lease and access them anytime and anywhere. As a result, all the advantages of a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) can be leveraged with the aid of the Desktone cloud of the SaaS pioneer – without the disadvantages, above all cost and complexity.
For high efficiency on the client side as well, Stratodesk now provides all Desktone cloud user with NoTouch Desktop. This tried-and-tested repurposing solution for terminal and VDI environments transforms any PC or thin client quickly and easily into ideal devices for also accessing cloud-hosted virtual desktops. The hardware- and vendor-independent solution replaces the local operating system of the desktop devices. This delivers several benefits. For one, users no longer have to worry about licensing, updating and protection directly following repurposing.
Above all, this means that NoTouch Desktop can also convert outdated PCs into efficient endpoints for virtual desktops, thus giving them a new lease of life – an advantage that is particularly interesting at present, since companies now have a large number of out-of-date computers after years in which little investment was made. To compound matters, countless companies still run PCs based on XP. Whereas the end of support for this operating system is in sight, many computers can no longer be upgraded to Windows 7. Moreover, NoTouch Desktop simplifies IT administrators’ work significantly, since NoTouch Center is integrated in the software and enables extremely simple configuration and monitoring of the client network. To this end, the flexible and extremely scalable management solution automatically creates an inventory of all endpoints and permits complete management of them, including inheritance of all settings and updates. This reduces the workload of the IT department, which in turn cuts costs.
Finally, NoTouch Desktop is the simplest means imaginable for end users to benefit from the advantages offered by DaaS from the Desktone cloud. The solution is easy to install, after which users simply need to boot their computer and authenticate themselves to gain immediate access to cloud-hosted desktops via the integrated Desktone client.
