How Good is the new Raspberry Pi 4 as a Thin Client?

Raspberry Pi 4 Thin Client

Stratodesk ran on the Raspberry Pi 4 as of day one. But how good is the Raspberry Pi 4 as a Thin Client?

As it turns out, the Raspberry Pi 4 is a very good Thin Client.

Unlike past models, the Pi 4 comes with native dual view support. It even supports 4k – an amazing feat for such a small device.

This is exciting news for anyone following the Raspberry Pi based Thin Client from ViewSonic, NComputing and ClearCube. Available with Stratodesk software directly out of the box, the workspace hub is now a more viable solution for enterprise use cases than ever before, thanks to these new features.

Raspberry Pi 4 as a Thin Client

The Raspberry Pi 4’s outlook is very good. Although the previous model was already being leveraged in production environments, a second piece of hardware was required to leverage dual screen. This device, built on the Pi Zero, enabled a powerful dual view display. However, such a device will not even be necessary moving forward, making the Pi 4 even more versatile and affordable than ever.

What else is New

In addition to the impressive 4k support and dual view capabilities, the Pi 4 has made the great jump to an impressive new 4 GB of fast memory. Additionally, it supports gigabit ethernet, boasts an increase in processor speed to 1.5HG, and includes a USB 3.0.

The base Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is still available for $35 with 1GB LPDDR4 memory, but for the first time on a Raspberry Pi, users can pay a little extra in order to unlock additional memory options. 2GB of memory is available for $45 while a board with 4GB memory is available for $55.

See Stratodesk software on the new Raspberry Pi 4 and experience unprecedented speed, native dual view and 4k. It almost has to be seen to be believed.
